Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Fire Alarm & Firefighting Systems Technician with 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of life safety systems.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in both electrical (fire alarm) and mechanical (fire suppression/sprinkler) systems, ensuring full compliance with local civil defense regulations and NFPA standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Fire Alarm & Detection Systems:
1.
Install, program, test, and repair addressable and conventional fire alarm control panels.
2.
Troubleshoot electrical faults, short circuits, and communication errors across detection loops and notification circuits.
3.
Inspect and test smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations, and alarm notification devices.
Firefighting & Suppression Systems:
1.
Perform routine testing and maintenance on fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, and hose connections.
2.
Inspect, test, and service fire pump sets (diesel and electric), jockey pumps, and pressure switches.
3.
Inspect and service clean agent fire suppression systems and kitchen hood fire systems.
4.
Perform pressure testing and maintenance on fire hydrants, hose reels, and portable fire extinguishers.
Compliance & Maintenance:
1.
Perform regular preventive maintenance inspections according to safety regulations and codes.
2.
Document inspection results, complete service reports, and recommend necessary repairs.
3.
Respond to emergency repair calls to resolve system failures quickly.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 2- 3 years of hands-on experience with fire alarm and firefighting systems.
Education: High School Diploma, vocational training, or diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Technical Skills:
1.
Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and mechanical piping layouts.
2.
Practical understanding of low-voltage wiring, hydraulics, and pressure systems.
3.
Knowledge of local civil defense safety regulations and national fire codes.
4.
Requirements: Strong troubleshooting skills, ability to work at heights, physical fitness, and a valid driver's license.
